What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete medical system.
It’s a different way of looking at the body compared to Western Medicine, and has continued to hold its own for thousands of years.
TCM was developed by personal observation and attention to detail by practitioners, passed down through generation after generation.
Acupuncture and TCM work on balancing the Qi (or energy) of the body circulating through multiple networks of meridians. Viewed from a Western framework, this is like the blood, oxygen, neurotransmitters, hormones, and cellular energy of our bodies; the way we typically think of circulating and generating nutrients throughout and for our bodies.
Our goal with acupuncture is to balance and nourish the meridians and organs. We balance the parasympathetic/sympathetic nervous system to allow your body to reset and heal itself. Our bodies have the amazing and innate ability to restore balance and harmony. Sometimes it just needs a little guidance. That’s where we come in.
